# DaVinci Commerce

> Build and maintain Jivox DCO campaign workbooks — audiences, treatments, asset variants and rotation weights — from a brief, and export them ready for the platform.

**DaVinci Commerce** is the vendor; **Jivox** is the product Gradial connects to. In **Settings → Integrations** the connection appears as **Jivox**. When asking Grady for a workbook you can call it *Jivox*, *DaVinci* or *Da Vinci* — all three refer to the same campaign workbook.

<Warning>
  This is **DaVinci Commerce's Jivox** platform. It is unrelated to Movable Ink's DaVinci product, despite the shared name.

## Why connect it

Dynamic creative optimization is a matrix problem. A campaign has audiences down one axis and treatments across the other, and every cell needs a defined combination of copy, asset and rotation weight. A modest campaign is 40 cells. A real one is several hundred.

That matrix gets built in a spreadsheet, by hand, usually by one person who understands both the creative intent and the platform's expected column structure. It takes days, it is nearly impossible to review, and a single misaligned asset key means a treatment silently never serves. Then the brief changes — a market is added, a treatment is cut — and the whole grid has to be rebuilt without breaking the parts that were already approved.

Gradial builds the workbook from the brief, keeps it consistent as the brief changes, and validates it against your own column rules before it leaves.

## What Grady can do

| Capability                    | Detail                                                                                                      |
| :---------------------------- | :---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Build a workbook from a brief | Turn a campaign brief, audience plan or treatment structure into a complete workbook artifact |
| Read and revise | Open an existing workbook, explain what's in it, and apply changes without rebuilding from scratch |
| Manage asset sources | Work with asset source definitions and the asset library behind the campaign |
| Validate structure | Check the workbook against your configured required columns and column mappings before export |
| Export | Produce the workbook as a native spreadsheet file, ready for the platform |
| Review in place | Open the workbook as an artifact in the task, so it can be read and commented on before anyone downloads it |

## Asset source profiles

The one piece of configuration that matters here. A **profile** tells Gradial what your workbooks are expected to look like — which columns must be present, and which column carries which meaning.

| Setting                    | What it does                                                                                              |
| :------------------------- | :-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Profile name** | How you refer to this shape when asking for a workbook — for example *Retail EMEA* or *Always-on Display* |
| **Required columns** | Columns that must be present. Missing ones are reported before export |
| **Asset key column** | The column that identifies which asset a row refers to |
| **Asset group column** | The column that groups assets belonging to the same set |
| **Asset variant column** | The column that distinguishes variants within a group |
| **Rotation weight column** | The column carrying serve weighting |
| **Reporting column** | The column used for reporting identifiers |
| **First row is title** | Whether the first row is a header row |
| **Validation mode** | **Warn** reports problems and continues; **Block** refuses to export an invalid workbook |

You can define several profiles — most organizations have more than one workbook shape — and nominate one as the default.

<Tip>
  Start a new connection in **Warn** mode. Run two or three real workbooks through it, see what gets flagged, and correct the profile against reality. Switch to **Block** once the flags have stopped, and the profile then acts as a genuine gate rather than a source of noise.

## Set up

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add the integration">
    Go to **Settings → Integrations**, find **Jivox** under Creative & DCO, and select **Connect**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Define at least one asset source profile">
    Add a profile using the settings above. If you have an existing workbook that represents your standard shape, use its column headers as the basis — that is the fastest route to a profile that matches what your team already produces.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set a default profile">
    Nominate the profile to use when a request doesn't name one. Profile names and IDs must be unique.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Build a test workbook">
    Ask Grady to build a workbook from a brief you have already delivered manually, then compare the two. Differences are usually a column-mapping detail, and correcting the profile once fixes every subsequent workbook.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Using it

```
Build a DaVinci workbook from the attached campaign brief.
Audiences: the six segments in the brief's audience table.
Treatments: three per audience — awareness, consideration, retargeting.
Use the assets in the attached asset list, and weight retargeting at 50%.
```

```
Open the Q3 Retail workbook and add the two new DACH audiences.
Keep every existing row and weight unchanged — I only want the new rows added.
```

```
Read this workbook and tell me which cells have no asset assigned,
and which asset keys don't resolve to anything in the asset list.
```

<Note>
  Gradial builds, validates and exports the workbook. Loading it into the platform and launching the campaign remain your team's steps — Gradial does not activate campaigns or change live serving.

## Who this is for

| Role                               | What this unlocks                                                                                              |
| :--------------------------------- | :------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Display / Programmatic Manager** | The matrix built from the brief rather than assembled by hand, and rebuilt cleanly when the brief moves |
| **Creative Ops** | Column structure validated before export, so a misaligned asset key is caught rather than discovered in flight |
| **Campaign Manager** | Audience and treatment structure that matches the plan you actually approved |
| **Regional Marketer** | Your markets added to an existing campaign without the whole grid being rebuilt |
| **Agency Partner** | A workbook in the shape the client's platform expects, first time |
