Connect Gradial to Adobe Workfront

Gradial’s Workfront integration allows you to ingest tasks and projects from your Workfront instance and use them to drive collaboration, reporting, and automation across your marketing workflows. With this integration, you can:
  • Ingest Workfront projects and tasks into Gradial with full context
  • Filter by portfolio, program, project, status, and custom fields
  • Trigger automations based on Workfront task or project updates
  • Surface task and project status directly within Gradial projects

What You’ll Need Before You Start

Before connecting Workfront to Gradial, gather the following:
  • Workfront domain – copied from the URL of your Workfront instance (e.g., https://your-company.my.workfront.com)
  • Team Field – the custom field name in Workfront that identifies the responsible team (e.g., Gradial Team, Team, Workstream)
  • Email – the service account’s Workfront email address Gradial will use to connect
  • API Token – generated for the service account in Workfront
  • (Optional) Projects – one or more project IDs to limit ingestion

How to Connect Workfront to Gradial

1. Open Workfront Integration

  1. Go to Integrations in the Gradial sidebar.
  2. Under Project Management Integrations, click Connect on the Workfront card.

2. Enter Your Workfront Domain

  1. Open Workfront in your browser.
  2. Copy the domain from the URL (e.g., https://your-company.my.workfront.com).
  3. Paste it into the Domain field in Gradial.

3. Add the Team Field

  1. Identify the Workfront custom field that represents the responsible team.
  2. Copy its exact name and paste it into the Team Field section in Gradial.
Note: Gradial supports global custom fields with short-text values only.

4. Enter the Service Account Email

  1. Create or use a dedicated Workfront service account for Gradial.
  2. Assign it access to the necessary portfolios, programs, projects, and custom fields.
  3. Copy the email address for the service account.
  4. Paste it into the Email field in Gradial.

5. Generate and Enter the API Token

  1. While logged in as the Workfront service account, go to Setup → System → Customer Info → API Key.
  2. Click Generate API Key.
  3. Copy the generated key and paste it into the API Token field in Gradial.

6. Filter by Projects (Optional)

  1. Navigate to a project in Workfront.
  2. Copy the project ID from the URL.
  3. Paste it into the Filter ingestion by projects field in Gradial.

7. Save the Integration

Click Save to activate the integration. Gradial will begin ingesting Workfront tasks and projects based on your configuration.
