Overview
The Slack integration brings Gradial into the place where work is already being discussed. Mention Gradial in a Slack channel to hand a request into a tracked Gradial task, follow progress directly in the Slack thread, and receive the completed response in the same thread — without switching tools.The Slack integration must be explicitly enabled for your organization. An admin must configure the integration, and the Gradial app must be added to the Slack channels where teams want to use it. Contact your Gradial team for access and setup guidance.
Why use Gradial with Slack?
Most content requests start as a conversation — a channel message, a thread, a quick ask. Normally someone has to carry that request out of Slack, recreate it as a task, and report back when it’s done. The Slack integration removes that loop:- Requests become tracked work instantly — a mention in a channel creates a real Gradial task, so nothing gets lost in the scroll
- Context carries over automatically — the request and its Slack thread context travel into Gradial with the task
- The requester stays informed without leaving Slack — progress, controls, and the final result all live in the original thread
How It Works
Start work with a mention
Mention Gradial in a channel where the app has been added and describe what you need. Gradial creates a tracked task from your request, carrying the message and surrounding thread context into the task so Grady starts with the full picture.Follow live progress in the thread
While Gradial works, a rich working message in the Slack thread shows the task’s current progress. You can watch the request move through the workflow without opening Gradial.Control the task from Slack
The working message includes in-thread controls:- Open in Gradial — jump to the full task view at any time
- Cancel — stop the active run directly from Slack; cancellation halts the workflow at its next safe checkpoint
Receive a clean final response
When the work finishes, the live progress panel is replaced with a durable response card in the same thread — a clear record of what was done that stays in the channel for anyone who finds the thread later.Continue the conversation
